We had SO much fun on our Scottsdale, AZ staycation a few weeks ago that we wanted to share a bit more. You can read an overview of our staycation here.

We stayed at the Hyatt Scottsdale at Gainey Ranch. In my experience my boys have fun at hotels no matter what. It’s somewhere that isn’t their house, everything is new and exciting, and there is usually a pool. I figured they’d love it but I didn’t realize how much!

My favorite part about the Hyatt Scottsdale is that they not only condsider kids they really put the time and effort into creating a place that kids won’t want to leave. My 8 year old decided that we were just going to move in!

Hyatt has teamed up with National Geographic to create an amazing, fun, and educational kids program. We’ve been on a cruise before and the boys wanted nothing to do with the “kids” program. Camp Hyatt here they were ALL about. They didn’t visit it personally (we’ll definitely have to come back to check it out) but they read all about it and were completely enthralled. After the birds of prey display and visiting the little Native American museum in the resort they really wanted to go!

We got to stay in a private casita that was PERFECT for families. It had a kitchen, living room, fenced in patio to see the ducks, and a roof top patio. There was also a private little hot tub for the casitas. Just perfect!

They have gondola rides, smore’s making and the most amazing food. We had brunch at the SWB and it was my favorite in Phoenix so far! SO good. I can’t wait to come back and try the Wine Me Dine Me at SWB! Spa Avania is one of the best (if not the best) in the valley. All you could need in one place!

The pool was definitely a favorite it’s a 2.5 acre playground! They just opened their new slide and pool area. There is even sand like a beach (the boys loved digging in). The boys thought it was hysterical when a couple ducks landed in the pool and they could see their feet under the water with their goggles. (There is an adult only pool too if you’re there without kids)

Are you ready for a picture overload?!

I hope it’s obvious how much fun we had. I HIGHLY encourage you to save and plan for a little getaway with your family. It was such a great weekend for us to focus on each other and really spend quality time together. We all had an amazing time just walking around the grounds and checking out the wildlife. If you’re in the area or planning a vacation to Scottsdale stay at Hyatt Scottsdale at Gainey Ranch. You won’t regret it. Oh and ask for a prickly pear margarita when you check in 😉
