What’s the best part of Spring? The colors! Bring some color into your life with a fun, easy to create candy masterpiece. We picked up a Skittles & Starburst Variety pack at Sam’s Club and while my boys wanted to eat it all I had other ideas in mind.

This DIY candy creation with Skittles & Starburst makes a fun party decoration or gift for a candy lover in your life. It will definitely brighten anyone’s day! What I didn’t expect when creating with this was how fun it would be. I think because so many senses were involved.

We started by sorting out the colors.

Next you’ll need to plan out your design. We put our candy on a 12″x12″ canvas (can be picked up at any craft store). I sketched out a square (off kilter a bit since I knew it would get that way eventually).

Then little by little add some glue (we used Tacky glue since it’s fairly strong but doesn’t dry right away in case a mistake is made) and add the candy.

I told the boys to work slowly so they wouldn’t bump the rest of the drying candy.

Initially we were going to make a completely different art piece with the Starburst but they wanted to mix them in so I cut the Starburst diagonally to add a different shape into the mix.

The hard part is letting it all dry when you’re done! Once it’s completely dry and you’re happy with it, seal it with acrylic, spray sealer, mod podge etc for longevity if you’re using it for more than a party.

I couldn’t stop photographing it! It’s so fun and colorful!

If you are giving it as a gift to a candy lover, you might want to include some candy they can actually eat (or create candy art on a cake).

  1. I think I would have used melted candy or royal icing and made it edible.
