There are SO many ways to build a fort so today we’re sharing some of our “go to” tips as well as several other ways to construct a fort!

Makedo makes cardboard fort making easy – we used a sheet to make it a bit cooler in the summer

You can create a fort with no structure by hanging it from the ceiling

A favorite of my boys is using a broom in between couch cushions to lift up a fort – we used a fitted sheet so the corners could grab on to the edges of the sofa

I think the boys like this one because they can lay on the couch – it’s fun to turn it into a nighttime fort!

A fort from newspaper is different but still simple and fun

And their favorite when they were younger is the table fort.

Stick-lets are fun to have on hand to make stick fort building quick and easy!

The leaning fort is an easy one – lean cardboard, sticks, a mattress up against a wall and you have an instant fort. This one from I’m Bloggin

If you have a bunk bed – fort making is pretty simple! This one from A Lemon Squeezy Home

There’s always the traditional wooden fort (ok there’s nothing traditional about this one from Wood Manor)

What is your favorite “go to” fort?

  1. I had my brother bring me a bunch of cardboard boxes from his work. I'm planning to build a big fort with tunnels tomorrow!!
