BOXCAR DRIVE-IN
No not the boxcar the children used to live in - a car made out of a box! We always have boxes laying around from our trips to Costco and we like to play with them before we throw them in the recycle bin. This week we made cars!

Mother's Day is this Sunday! That kind of snuck up on me! The internet is filled with Mother's day ideas but I'd have to say as far as the DIY goes this is my favorite idea for a Mother's Day gift this year
Tiny Polaroid magnets from Ambrosia Girl
I don't know a mother who doesn't love pictures and these are not only pictures, but serve a purpose as well! You can go to her blog for the step by step.
Oh and I DO love these Lego flowers

Happy Star Wars Day! What? You didn't know it was Star Wars Day? Sheesh what kind of rock do you live under? (I didn't know until people talked about it online either)

Did you know it is Teacher Appreciation week? Yeah me either. That's why I have the internet ;)
And I owe a HUGE thanks to Eighteen 25 for doing all the hard work for me this year.

How adorable is this printout? These are the ones we did real quick last night thanks to the printout by Eighteen 25 You still have time to make your own! They are so cute and so easy!

DIY,
printables Dana at MADE is so talented, creative, and crafty. I look forward to her blog posts each week (boy OR girl centered) she has gorgeous photos, fun projects, and great ideas. I loved this post about a completely handmade baby gift. I loved each item in this gift. It's so thoughtful and how amazing would it be to recieve a completely handmade gift from someone.
Well tomorrow is Earth Day and while WE won't be celebrating Earth Day (we'll be celebrating Mr. Waken's Birth Day) I thought this was a really cute and quick way to talk a little bit about the Earth and it's different layers - from Jill at Meet the Dubiens.
Who doesn't love an innocent prank? I know mine do! I remember my brother having one of these (and I may have too) when we were kids. They are SO easy but are a huge hit with the Y chromosomes (the X's as well). Let's see how they're made!

When kids are old enough to play a card game like Uno, their hands just don't seem big enough to hold all the cards without showing their siblings.
Delia from Delia Creates created this DIY version which I think is MUCH more fun and personal than a plastic version I've seen. This would be a fun project to make to include in a gift of some card games or just to do with your kids so they don't get as frustrated!
