I think we can all agree we need one of these somewhere in the house  - from Mmm Crafts

Celebrate the Boy

Do you follow Dana at MADE or Made by Rae? They are doing my favorite celebration - Celebrate the Boy

It's a collection of boy handmade inspiration - you can find all their past projects and the info HERE.

Last week Dana posted about Behind the Hedgerow's (who made the utility belt we just shared) adorable wookie doll (original made by Draw Pilgrim with a free pattern!)

Dana also has a great post about pulling together a Star Wars costume

I'm also loving the robe, jammies, and favorite t-shirt buddy

They are celebrating until March 15 with great boy projects!

Utility Belt

I know all of you love the idea of a utility belt because I got lots of emails about the toddler belt/car holder we posted about a while ago.

This is a similar idea but with a few new twists! Behind the Hedgerow made a utility belt for holding all the necessities.

You can get instructions from Behind the Hedgerow

Fun Plans!

I just wanted to share some plans that I am super excited about starting next month! I got some great feedback about the idea of doing some themed weeks on our Facebook page - if you don't follow us on Facebook you might want to think about it! I love that it's becoming a place where people can ask questions and share ideas

Like how to decorate a spring hat for the spring hat parade (I have no idea we don't do those here but I knew you all would have ideas) - come share some ideas or ask anything you like!

Back to themed weeks. I thought it would be fun to do a few months of themed weeks. Here are some ideas that have been suggested:

  • Star Wars / Space
  • dinosaurs
  • art
  • simple machines
  • science
  • detectives
  • camping
  • cowboy
  • Harry Potter
  • bugs
  • reptiles
  • animals in general
  • cars
  • woodworking/building
  • ninja
  • digital to real life (full sized angry birds, minecraft etc)
  • knights
  • wipeout
  • gross

I'd love for you to add your ideas here or on the Facebook post as well! We'll do 13 themes from April - June so you can take these ideas and use them for summer break! If you have something you'd like to submit for theme weeks you can use the contact form here on the page. I'm also thinking maybe a link party for other bloggers might be fun?

And so I don't leave you without inspiration for your Monday morning here are some awesome ideas I've pinned lately!

DIY Superhero Cape

We all have a little Superhero in us and every superhero needs a cape! Stephanie over at Spaceships and Laserbeams (who sells awesome party printables) has had some great party ideas going up on her blog lately.

Today I had to share this DIY cape from The Southern Institute - so simple!

Can't forget the superhero accessory!

LEGO Dance Party

I recently found another party that was just too good not to share. What type of party do you have for a LEGO lover who can dance? A LEGO Dance Party of course! Cupcakes and Cutlery put on one of the most amazing kids' parties I have seen lately! So many great details!

The cake was opened with a hammer!

To me this is so creative - putting things your kid loves together to create a seamless party - like people do it all the time. Be sure to stop by Cupcakes and Cutlery and tell her how amazing this party was! Plus, you're going to want to see ALL the photos.
